About Power of HOPE Community Organization – Oxford County Chapter

At the end of August 2012, Karen Geerts, of Woodstock, Ontario, joined Power of HOPE Community Organization to help raise funds, collect stuffed toys, PJs and other much needed items for families in need in her area.

Much needed tems are collected for families in need and women in crisis throughout the year. Each year, in December, Karen and her team of volunteers gift wrap all the donated items and distribute to agencies in Oxford County and area to help make the festive season just a little extra special for low income families, children in need and women in crisis.

Six Weeks of HOPE

Each year, Power of HOPE holds its Six Weeks of HOPE campaign, when the charity invites businesses and stores to help collect pyjamas and stuffed toys in the run up to Christmas. All items donated in Oxford County and area are given to families in need in Oxford County and area.

Fund Raising Events

Power of HOPE Oxford County Chapter holds events throughout the year to help raise funds to purchase pyjamas and other essential items for families and children in need.

Change for HOPE (formerly Pennies for HOPE)

In 2012, Power of HOPE started the Pennies for HOPE campaign and collected pennies to help purchase much needed items. When the penny became obsolete currency in Canada, Power of HOPE changed the campaign to Change for HOPE. Over the years, the campaign raised several thousands of dollars. Although Change for HOPE is no longer an active campaign for raising funds for Power of HOPE, if you do wish to donate cash you’ve stashed, contact Karen direct at 226-228-1045 to donate.

All monetary donations in Oxford County and area stay in Oxford County and area and will be used to purchase items to give to families in Oxford County and area.
